The benchmarking interface will allow:

1. the selection of comparators based on any number of variables included in the BESTIN-OPM^ES dictionary, provided confidentiality standards are met,

2. the separation of best performers in the selected comparators, according to any criteria (any quantitative or qualitative variable taken alone or in combination from the dictionary of variables of the BESTIN-OPM^ES can be used to determine performance),

3. single variable comparisons (the simplest type of benchmarking)

4. comparisons between stably defined groups of variables (pre-defined types of processes in innovation, marketing, operations, human resource management, business strategy and the like) characterizing the benchmarked firm and comparing it with its more performing selected comparators;

5. flexible benchmarking, giving access to a variety of econometric and statistical tools to extract statistically significant best-practices from selected comparators, thus shedding light on causality of processes explaining performance.
